Automated manufacturing at Solidtec

Rapid Tooling in the Age of Automation

Production within the shortest possible time

It’s done: our new automation hall has now been in operation for 8 weeks. It has been performing exceptionally well ever since. Many of our customers are familiar with extensive automation in the manufacture of injection-moulded components, particularly in the field of large-scale production. We are now taking the step of automating toolmaking on a scale never seen before: repetitive processes are handled by specially developed design software and a fleet of CNC machines tailored to it.

Processes carried out automatically include, for example, the manufacture of mechanical sliders and their components, the automatic production of all standardised mould components, as well as the positioning of the ejectors and the generation of the ejector mechanism components. Our project managers and toolmakers utilise the enormous time savings to focus on the key aspects of their work, in particular the specific requirements of our customers’ projects.

Manufacture and delivery of 1 million components in 4 weeks

First-class performance thanks to automation

Our new automation system passed its baptism of fire during the surreal times of the so-called ‘lockdown’, proving that Solidtec is ready to take on new challenges. For a face shield retaining clip, we were able to create a mould overnight, just 24 hours after the enquiry, and produce the first 1,000 parts within a single day. The ability to produce further duplicate moulds at the same pace also enabled us to increase daily production to 50,000 parts within three weeks, in order to meet the high demand.

Lightning-fast tooling, production and delivery of one million components (around 50,000 per day) within just four weeks: we are convinced that this achievement is unique worldwide thanks to our in-house developed automation.

We, too, are facing new challenges during the coronavirus pandemic and are seeing day after day how communication chains become longer and more complex when operating the necessary multi-shift system and with staff working from home.

This is increasing the administrative workload involved in implementing our customers’ projects, which is clearly detrimental to our industry philosophy. With our new automation in the tool manufacturing process, we can now significantly improve both the precision and the production time of the tools.

This enables us to guarantee faster delivery times even in the face of increased administrative burdens.

In keeping with our company philosophy, we aim to process orders quickly and reliably, not least to generate market advantages for our customers. Thanks to our fast systems, we can make up for lost time on your behalf.

If you would also like to benefit from these advantages, we would be delighted to be your valued partner once again – or to become one – when implementing your next projects! We would, of course, be happy to arrange a meeting with you at any time, either at our premises or yours.
