Quality Management at Solidtec

Precision with a systematic approach

As specialists in rapid tooling and plastic injection moulding for small-batch production and prototypes Solidtec has stood for high flexibility, speed and customisation since 1993. The combination of rapid prototyping and proven series production has always been the cornerstone of our business.

As the demand for series production has grown, so too have the quality requirements for our plastic components. For this reason, we continuously invest in our quality management system – ensuring processes you can rely on.

Our precision is based on a well-thought-out combination of our in-house measurement and testing laboratory, certified processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and tried-and-tested methods such as P-FMEA, SPC, MSA and comprehensive documentation in accordance with IATF 16949, VDA Volume 2, ISO 13485 and FDA. Whether it’s initial sample testing, process validation, product and process approvals or production monitoring – at Solidtec, technology, experience and quality work together seamlessly.

Our Quality Principles

We combine the dynamism of prototype construction with the high standards of series production. To this end, we have established a holistic approach to quality that integrates modern measurement technology, stable processes and qualified specialists to ensure a consistent standard of quality throughout.

Our quality department works closely with everyone involved in the project – from the initial idea through feasibility studies and test specifications right through to the validated series production. In this way, we ensure that every project is comprehensively documented and systematically validated right from the start.

In-house quality control department with a state-of-the-art testing laboratory

To ensure the quality of your components, we operate our own measurement and testing laboratory with a comprehensive range of equipment that is continually being expanded. Here, we combine the speed of rapid tooling with the precision of series production – a core principle of our approach to quality.

Our laboratories are designed to test components quickly, precisely and in accordance with defined standards. The results are digitally documented and fed directly into qualification and validation processes.

Our measurement technology includes:

  • Coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
  • Strip light projector
  • Surface profilometer
  • Force gauge for tensile and compressive testing
  • Mechanical test equipment
  • Optical inspection stations for component testing

For more in-depth analyses, such as CT scans, we work closely with accredited testing laboratories in the region. This geographical proximity enables rapid evaluation and short response times – which is particularly valuable for time-critical projects or complex geometries.

Certified quality – documented and traceable

We have a certified quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 as well as an environmental management system compliant with ISO 14001. This enables us to meet internationally recognised standards in quality, sustainability and process reliability.

In addition to manufacturing in accordance with standards, we provide comprehensive support for all quality-related requirements for your components – from initial sampling through to validated series production.

Our quality management services:

  • Initial sampling, qualification and validation
  • PPAP in accordance with IATF 16949 & PPF in accordance with VDA Volume 2
  • Technical documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 and FDA
  • Statistical outgoing goods inspections in accordance with ISO 2859
  • Support with P-FMEA, control plans, MSA and SPC
  • Process development, including test procedures, comparison tables and 100% inspections

Well-positioned for the future: Our outlook

Standing still is not an option for us – fortunately, we rely on aluminium. In the coming years, we plan to expand the premises of our quality and testing laboratory and to acquire our own CT scanner.

This will enable us to reduce analysis times, increase measurement accuracy and carry out in-depth structural analyses in-house – without the need for external service providers and without long waiting times.

Quality in every batch – guaranteed

Solidtec has evolved from a pure prototype manufacturer into a high-performance series production supplier with comprehensive quality management . Today, we combine the speed of rapid tooling with the process reliability of series production. From the initial prototyping through validation to a proven series production run, we offer you quality from a single source – documented, tested and reliable.

Our quality department supports every project with clearly defined procedures, state-of-the-art measurement technology and traceable documentation. In this way, we ensure that your components are manufactured in a reproducible, standard-compliant and consistently stable manner – regardless of whether they are small batches, recurring production runs or safety-critical components.
