From start-up to rapid tooling specialist
Our success storyAutumn 1995
In Babenhausen, in southern Hesse, Torsten Kurenbach and Thomas Rößner lay the foundations for what is now Solidtec GmbH. Initially operating as a service provider in rapid prototyping, the company soon began carrying out complete projects in-house. Solidtec GmbH also developed rapidly from a technical perspective:
Following its first cast resin moulds with short service lives, the company specialised in rapid tooling moulds made from a high-strength aluminium alloy. Investments in high-speed milling machines and injection moulding machines followed. Continuous growth necessitated a new site with larger premises.
August 2001
The company is relocating to its current site in Dieburg. What was once a two-man operation is now a high-performing company with over 100 employees and a state-of-the-art machine park comprising 40 high-speed machining centres, 30 injection moulding machines and a fully equipped tool-making facility.
May 2011
Owing to the strong order book and steady growth, a plot of land comprising an office building and production/warehouse facilities in the Nord industrial estate in Dieburg was acquired as part of the company’s long-term planning. Refurbishment work and the start of construction on a new production building are now under way.
March 2013
The move to the new premises is now complete. Following on from the administration, project management and toolmaking departments, which had already begun work at the new site in December 2012, the injection moulding department also moved into the new premises at Lagerstraße 45 in mid-March 2013.
