Team event for our young players
A three-day road trip, a boating adventure, good food and camaraderie. What was the result? A team that understands each other without needing to speak and proves that, together, we can overcome major obstacles.
In mid-September 2026, the time had come: our trainees from all apprenticeship programmes and years, together with our metalworking instructor, set off in convoy towards Dresden. After the journey together, our apprentices were given a sneak peek inside the hallowed halls of a partner company. The evening drew to a lovely close with a cosy barbecue.
The next morning, everyone set off, feeling fit and rested, on a boat trip lasting several hours through Saxon Switzerland. It soon became clear that you can only move straight ahead if you paddle in unison. To recharge our batteries, we stopped off in Pirna, before continuing down the Elbe – this time in new rowing teams.
Working hand in hand to achieve peak performance
In the evening, the trainees faced their biggest challenge: to build a bridge together in two teams, without communicating directly with one another. The only tools they had were the most basic components, cable ties, screws and string. The result was a bridge that could bear a load of a whopping 90 kg!
The lesson to be learnt: a team can work hand in hand and achieve remarkable feats even without direct communication!
On the third and final day, after a group breakfast followed by a feedback session, we set off in single file for home, filled with a sense of togetherness, deep camaraderie, satisfaction and the desire to repeat such an experience next year with our new trainees – perhaps you?
Providing the best possible training for young talent
As the region’s leading training provider in the plastics industry, we recognise that we have a responsibility to train and support our young talent to the highest possible standard.
But it is not just the skills and qualifications acquired in our apprenticeship programmes – toolmaker, plastics technologist, warehouse specialist, mechatronics technician, machining mechanics, and IT specialists for system integration – are fundamental to our future; it is also the team that works hand in hand with us. As this is not always possible through direct contact, it is all the more important that everyone is on the same wavelength in order to achieve the best possible results.
And a team can only function as such if it has learnt to rely on its colleagues, whilst everyone keeps the same goal in mind.
